Name: Isabella Tenai
Occupation: E4Impact Accelerator Manager
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Describe to us your typical day at work
At E4Impact, we rarely have a “typic_ al day” as _we are always having a number activities running. In a day we may workshops, coaching, meetings and I ensure that the Accelerator is running as smoothly as possible and that the team is well taken care of.
What are you passionate about?
I love DIYs! The ability and creativity to transform wood or textile from one form to another is incredibly satisfying. This is another reason why I love working at E4Impact, as this is the reality every day, seeing this transformation on people on a more grand scale.
What do you see as the role of a woman in society?
As cliché as it may be, I believe a woman is the fabric that holds a society together. Right from their households to their place of work, they are managers, cleaners, counselors, cheerleaders, sounding boards, teachers and everything in between. These roles emerge almost effortlessly towards building the people around them. So, a woman is the key ingredient required for a society to thrive.
Tell us where you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself more involved in E4Impact across other countries and perhaps running a small farm!
How can women support each to grow?
Women can share their experiences openly with close friends, this can also be converted to forums to educate each other, share opportunities that can grow the other and more importantly, pay forward this support. We should always lift each other and celebrate each other’s achievements, however small.
